My first time being in the US was on a business trip to the area of Sacramento. A short trip to San Francisco was on top of my list and a visit to the golden gate bridge of course too. A few US trips later I knew where to go and got lucky with this unplanned shot of a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch.

I´ve visited Houston often already for business purposes. Some friends I´ve met in Barcelona, some many years back, are living there too, so a visit to Houston is a welcome trip. During the last visit I´ve jumped into the car and drove to the area of Galveston where I found this wooden old jetty. A cloudy day with the sun peaking here and there through the clouds gave me the opportunity to capture this black and white photo.

As I somehow have the luck to get in touch with the local police force, no matter where I shoot, it was just a question of time when I will get in touch with the police in the US. On my way back to Houston I stopped by an oil refinery to take a picture of it with an amazing sunset behind. Someone must have thought I am up to no good with my camera and called the police. I was surrounded by 3 cars and 2 more cars blocked the highway ramps next to me so that I cannot run. Luckily the police Sherrif of the area was nice and calm and I was allowed to drive back without any issues.
